One of our favorite summer camps returns with more terrific medleys and individual solos from the latest Broadway shows including BEAUTIFUL-the Carole King musical & LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, among others.  The 2 separate performances insure that there is ample time to feature all who want to test their solo abilities!  Work with musical directors Cheryl and Alexandrea Kemeny as well as Joe Santaniello on vocal delivery, song interpretation and gesture in our air-conditioned studios at the Ben Franklin Theatre.  Char Fromentin of Dance Dimensions is back as choreographer along with Stage manager, Debra Poruban and various college assistants.  This camp/show concentrates on the development of solo singing as well as theatre ensemble dancing and singing.  It’s a great preparation for the Fall audition season.

Cheryl Kemeny’s award-winning show which inspired the New York Musical Festival 2014 version. Be a part of the latest BIG version of this timely musical about the fight to stop child labor and one woman’s quest to make a difference!  This big and winning musical by Cheryl Kemeny tells the story of Mary Harris “Mother” Jones, the “most dangerous woman in America” in 1903 and her crusade to end child labor and send kids to school instead.  She led them on a march from Kensington, PA to Oyster Bay, Long Island to meet the president and call attention to their plight. This show is a great way to learn to sing, act and dance with the pay-off of a full scale production in our 236 seat theater.  It is for students entering 5th - 12th grades. There are challenging and varied parts for all—including non-singers!  Taught by author/composer Cheryl Kemeny, director Samantha Kulish, choreographer Char Fromentin, acting/vocal coach Joe Santaniello, stage manager Debra Poruban & college assistants in our air-conditioned studios at the Ben Franklin Theatre.
All students will develop their acting skills, not only through performance, but during structured acting exercises and theatre games throughout the day.  The 2 performances are “double-cast” (which means that all the lead parts have 2 performers-one performs a lead at each performance.  When not performing a lead part, the actor sings and dances with the ensemble-thereby doubling the learning experience!)
