Cheryl Kemeny's shows include "Ellis Island", its sequel, "Living
The American Dream" and "A Spinning Tale". "Ellis Island" is the 1996
Moss Hart Youth Division winner, and "Living The American Dream" won
honorable mention in the 1998 Moss Hart competition. "A Spinning Tale"
ran off-Broadway at Playhouse 91 for 5 months. Fifteen of her other
musicals have been produced by theatre groups throughout the area.
Ms. Kemeny received a 1996 Playwright's Fellowship from the Connecticut
Commission on the Arts which enabled the writing of "Mother Jones
and the March of the Mill Children", first produced in 1997. She is
the recipient of last year's Celebrate Women! Award for service in
the community. Ms. Kemeny is a graduate of Hartt College of Music
in voice and opera, and a 4-year student at the Franz Liszt Academy
of Music in Budapest. She performed professionally with her sister,
Alexandrea, for 10 years before forming Crystal
Theatre. |
