Rising Stars: The Art of Making Art

8th Grade, 9th Grade, 10th Grade, 11th Grade, 12th Grade

Mondays 7:00pm - 9:30pm

Grades 8th - College

"The Art of Making Art" a new showcase developed and written by director and class instructor Joe Santaniello. This class is part of Crystal Theatre's Rising Stars program, a program developed by Santaniello to offer a different outlet for our students offering professional training in a smaller class setting. The students enrolled in this class will learn popular Broadway repertoire individually chosen for the students enrolled and then a script is developed to connect all of the music in a fully costumed and staged musical! Every student has a featured role, so please plan accordingly with the schedule provided. Conflicts should be brought to the first rehearsal so a more detailed schedule can be created. Please note that our performance is on the Friday evening before April vacation. If you are interested in the class, but planning to go away please indicate that so we can try to find a common ground for our performance, once our show is created students are expected to be committed. This class is going to be lots of fun and is not to be missed. As the show is being written for those enrolled, try to sign up early!

The students in "The Art of Making Art" will also be performing in the Annual Matthew Chiappetta Memorial Concert on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 7:00pm. Students will dress in any combination of Black and White and must arrive by 6:30pm. A Mandatory rehearsal for the concert will be on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5:00pm - 8:45pm.  Please check our website for more information regarding the concert, Scholarship and our annual Matthew Chiappetta Shining Angel Bowl-a-thon  as the dates get closer. All of these events honor the memory of long-time student Matthew Chiappetta, who passed away suddenly at the age of 13 in 2004.
