Crystal Theatre Performs

Colonial History Day Celebration

Mill Hill Historic Park ~ 2 East Wall St. Norwalk, CT

(Parking is across the street at the HSC building)

Crystal Theatre high school actors will be performing the musical, "Daughters of Liberty" at the Norwalk Historical Society's Colonial History Day Celebration at Mill Hill Historic Park on Saturday, May 7th at 3:00pm!

Event is free and runs from 2:00pm - 4:00pm.

Explore Colonial life in Norwalk! From 2:00pm – 3:00pm visit Hannah Hall Fitch at the Governor Fitch Law office and learn how the colonists lived and worked.  Step back in time with School Mistress Benedict and experience school life in the 1826 Little Red Schoolhouse. Write with quill and ink, practice your arithmetic on a slate and try to avoid wearing the dunce cap! Relax during Colonial Story time as you listen to a tale about a colonial child and her many grueling chores and don't forget to visit Jim's Ice Cream Truck to purchase a sweet treat!

At 3:00pm Crystal Theatre will be presenting the musical, “Daughters of Liberty”, written by local playwright, Cheryl Kemeny.  As Dame Raymond and her friends gather for the weekly sewing bee at Betts Tavern news arrives that the British are coming to Norwalk! With danger at their doorstep, how will the citizens of Norwalk protect the town from British General Tryon's torch? Performed by a talented cast of area high school students, “Daughters of Liberty” will bring the days leading up to the infamous Burning of Norwalk to life.
