“The Ants & the Grasshoppers” a mini-musical by Sally Sabo-Lombardo is based on the famous Aesop’s fable. It begins as hardworking Ants begin harvesting food in the summer, while a group of Grasshoppers laugh, sing and dance. The Ants warn the grasshoppers that Winter is coming, but the Grasshoppers are carefree and continue to party…all the way to the arrival of Winter! The Grasshoppers gaze through the window of the Ants’ home and see them feasting, while laughing, singing and dancing! Now it is too late for the Grasshoppers to learn about the importance of preparing for the future. Luckily, the Ants invite the Grasshoppers inside for the Winter and the Grasshoppers learn an important lesson: “Work hard today to get ready for tomorrow!"
