Laszlo Balazs
Associate Artistic Director and Accompanist
Laszlo Balazs is Crystal Theatre's associate artistic director, administrator, and resident lighting engineer & designer, having been involved in productions at the theatre since the tender age of 5. Along with serving as a musical director and director of many of the children's productions, Laszlo handles the theatre's communications and currently attends Brien McMahon High School. Laszlo is featured on the Crystal Publishing "Ellis Island" CD and plays piano/synthesizer for most of our productions. Favorite performing roles include Jonas Fairweather in Mariner Pezza's The Burning of Norwalk, 1779 Rumplestilsken in Cheryl and Alexandrea Kemeny's A Spinning Tale, Benny Rathbone in David Jackins and Cheryl Kemeny's Louder than Words, and Ensemble/Gypsy in the 2019 international tour of Cheryl Kemeny's Hungarian Nights. A composer and writer, Laszlo's first original musical, Growth Spurt, premiered in February 2019 at Crystal Theatre and he is currently working on a musical based on life in Norwalk Connecticut in 1862 during the Civil War.
