Sally Szabo-Lombardo

Director, Choreographer, & Writer

Sally Szabo-Lombardo received a B.A. in Theatre and Creative Writing from Fairfield University with a minor in music composition and psychology and has performed professionally as a dancer, singer and actress in NY and CT. As a playwright and composer, she has written and staged five full-length musicals and fifty one-act musicals, dramas and comedies. Her musical writing styles include Broadway, Classical, International Folk (Hungarian, Japanese, Italian, French) and Big Band Jazz. Sally has served as a playwright and composer for Norwalk, CT’s Crystal Theatre and the Darien Arts Center’s Youth Theatre, wherein both she choreographed and directed her own works and American standards. Having started dancing at age 5 at Ballet Etudes (and never stopping!), Sally has served as a Dance Teacher throughout Fairfield County and New York State working with ages 3 through seniors and has been blessed to teach Modern, Lyrical and Broadway with a concentration in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. She also teaches Creative Movement at Darien’s Methodist Preschool with ages 3 through 6. Sally is also an award-winning Arts Editor, having worked in both the newspaper and magazine industries for many years. Sally is thrilled to be working with Crystal Theatre and looks forward to being a part of the wonderful theatrical accomplishments they are known for.
